To The North!

And so, it was time to head back to the North Island, and as it turned out we got out of dodge just in time, as New Zealand's worst snow storm in over 40 years hit the islands! We narrowly escaped the snow as we drove north over the desert road, then spent the next few days with family and friends back in lovely Taupo.

We also went to Orakei Koraka, a thermal valley filled with sulphur pools and colourful hot lakes.
